I visited California about two months ago and I was thrilled to enjoy the State's sunshine and summer weather by walking barefoot at the sea in Venice Beach and tasting the famous delicious tacos in Santa Monica. One of my afternoons there, I spent it in Malibu. And it was SO incredibly great!

Besides everything else, Malibu is famous for its wines too – quite a few grape varieties of the highest quality, unique vineyards, a breathtakign view at the ocean and that is how Wine Tastings became one of the Top Things to Do in L.A.
The ride from Santa Monica to Malibu is magical, especially right before the sunset. With wine tasting being so popular around the state, there are many vineyards to visit and official wine tours organized by local travel agencies.
I can't guarantee for all of them or suggest going on a wine tour but one thing I know for sure: that Sunday afternoon at Malibu wines was an incredible experience I highly recommend!
Malibu Wines is a vineyard where you can ejoy a glass of wine while listening to live music, dance and have an amazing day in the mountains until dusk. What makes it unique isn't just its location - it's the atmosphere. The whole 'picnic thing' going on there, the opportunity to bring your own outside food whether that is a salad or some kind of cold meat, burgers – anything.
Everyone's more than welcome to bring their own food since Malibu Wines serves only light snacks and accompany it with a glass of fine wine out of the two labels offered. You can picnic on the grass since there is a wide green space to spread around or find a seat at the wooden tables available on the spot – if you manage to find one.
If you ever happen to be around the California area, I highly recommend you to dedicate a Sunday (or any other weekday) visit at Malibu Wines to enjoy a glass of Saddle Rock, the Californian-style!
Malibu Wines is open everyday from Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00 – also note that the minimum consumption is a bottle per 2-4 people while being a strict 21+ establishment.
