It’s them you remember, because they are warm, hospitable, and proud of their birth town, which makes you wonder, but they are. They love their town and there’s nothing they enjoy more than showing you around, taking you to the citadel, the open markets, and the museums. I should not forget to mention the food: those pies, the dolma (mmm those dolma) and their spices.
The ancient citadel of Erbil
The statue of Ibn al-Mustawfi, which guards the main entrance of the Erbil citadel
The market below the citadel walls.
Some of its people.
The Textile Museum with its heirlooms and its hand-woven artifacts.
And a TAKSI, because I found it more interesting than TAXI
Such trips are beautiful, aren’t they?
