This blog has always been my greatest choice, for offering you a free pass for trips all over the world. Business or pleasure, adventure or fun, this is my personal take on traveling. All those trips around the world, together with my deep love for airplanes and flying, helped me to gain a long experience and deep knowledge on traveling - captured on every single post uploaded here. Some of the most interesting trips I've been following for a while now are the Orbis International travels around the globe – proudly supported by Omega since 2011 .
ORBIS International is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to treating avoidable blindness in some of the world's most remote parts of the planet, having carried out programmes in more than 90 countries around the globe until this day. The organisation serves two purposes: not only it offers medical and optical treatments aboard the Flying Eye Hospital, but it also trains new eye care professionals in order to pass on the flame and continue the great work.
The organisation's collaboration with Omega began with the presentantion of the documentary "Through Their Eyes" which followed the Brand Ambassador, Daniel Craig on his visit to the Flying Eye Hospital in Mongolia. The documentary's effectiveness in raising awareness of Orbis' eye care programmes that lead to the creaton of a new documentary in 2015, "The Hospital in the Sky" featuring Cindy Crawford who visited the Flying Eye Hospital with her daughter in Peru.
THE NEW FLYING EYE HOSPITAL
A flying hospital that travels around the globe, curing and changing the lives of so many people – that is the Flying Eye, the world's only opthalmic teaching hospital aboard an MD-10 Jet. It features an eye care hospital, equipped with the newest, state-of-the-art technology that can transmit live surgeries around the world in 3D. This year, on June the 2nd, ORBIS presented its new MD-10 aircraft. The updated jet serves as the new Flying Eye hospital, performing the most advanced eye care operations.
THE OMEGA TEDDY BEAR
OMEGA supports ORBIS International's cause in many ways. The most emotional one being the offer of a cuddly teddy bear to the children-patients undergoing an eye care operation. The cuddly toy also graces the design of the new Orbis watches. Used as an inspired pattern, the OMEGA teddy bear can be found on the dial and caseback of all three De Ville Prestige watches, specially designed in partnership with ORBIS International. OMEGA will donate a portion of the De Ville Prestige Orbis sales to the work of Orbis International. By purchasing these watches, customers will be helping to make a difference around the world.
