Frankfurt and I, have never been good friends.
Why? I don’t really know. Frankfurt always felt like a ghost town to me. I’ve never had enough time to enjoy this place, but, frankly, I don’t think time is the issue; I think it’s the city itself. We are simply not a good match.
The airport is huge and chaotic and Ι have spent many hours waiting for my flight back home. And still, it’s not the waiting that freaks me out; it’s the endless walking. If Athens, Greece is your final destination, prepare yourself for indoor training. Plus, I think I am too Greek for the weather up there in the North.
After countless visits, there is only one thing which excites me:
A certain soup. Yes, a soup.
A certain soup. Yes, a soup.
If there’s one thing that could possibly make me like this city, a soup would be it; the ginger-curry carrot with chicken skewer soup in Paulaner. Lots of lemon and fresh white baguette. God, I feel like I am in heaven.
*** Paulaner is not famous for its soups, but for other meaty stuff, like Bavarian sausages or schnitzel. But you have to taste THIS soup.
If you are ever in Frankfurt, and you have some ground time before your next transit flight, try and get there. It’s located next to the Sheraton hotel, in the Squaire City, on the first floor, just above Rewe.
I love these hidden diamonds at the airports!
I have more diamonds for you. Stand by…
