The golden age of flying is making a "comeback" and the high-fashion crew uniforms presented by top airlines around the world lately are proof for that. Finesse and impeccable style are both essentials for those working in aviation and just a look at the world's busiest terminals will convince you of the sky's superb style!
Style is not mandatory in aviation though, and it is definitely not a common practice since many low cost airline companies, sacrifice style and choose utility over a philosophy of excellent customer service and great aesthetics as expected.
Despite that, the Golden Aviation Era is making a comeback thanks to a few airlines that invest into providing great customer service, making every passenger feel unique - almost like being a special guest up in the air.
The Olympic Airlines uniforms made a fashion statement in the history of aviation, as did the Etihad Airlines uniforms designed by Ettora Billota last year. Thereare many more examples like these with the most recent being the new Hainan Airlines uniforms: one of China's biggest carriers had me in awe with its haute-couture designs!
Hainan Airlines debuted the new uniform collection at Paris Couture Week a few days ago, proving the airlines' dedication in providing excellent service while paying attention to a flawless image! Laurence Xu designed the uniforms influenced by a fusion of traditional Chinese elements - delicate clouds, fashion motifs and Roc - the mythical Chinese bird, blend exceptionally with western designs!
"The cooperation between Hainan Airlines and Laurence Xu is industry-leading. We are not only creating a new uniform but also showing the internationalized image of our airline, letting its international passengers know, that China is modern and trendy!" - Said Xu Fei, Hainan Airlines Brand Director.
