Prague, the Golden City
Prague is one of the most atmospheric cities that I have ever visited. I was there during the springtime back in 2008, the weather was perfect and since i didn't have enough free time to enjoy it all, i chose to visit the Old City only. It was love at first sight: The baroque and gothic architecture of buildings, the well preserved Old City, the innumerable antique shops, the cultural cafes (that the intellectuals of the old days used to enjoy their teas), the castle and the neighborhood of Kafka and the astronomical clock Orloj. That was actually an amazing walk!

The Orloj clock has been manufactured in 1410 and counts the time according to the old Bohemian system (24-hour), the Bohemian (12-hour) but also the modern one. In addition, it shows the position of the planets, the moon as well as the months. It's the most famous attraction in the city.

Prague is a city with more than 350 theatres, 25 museums, 100 art galleries and lots of jazz- clubs and its historical centre is in the list of the world’s cultural heritages of UNESCO.

It is also called the “Golden City” because of the innumerable semi-gold cupolas that adorn the roofs of the buildings. Did you know that?

Would you choose Prague for your next trip?
