DAY 4
The most characteristic ones are the fragments of dolphins at the Queen's Megaron, the bull fresco at the North Entrance, the masterpiece of the "Prince of Lillies" at the South Entrance, as well as the "Bull-Leaping Fresco" or Taurokathapsia - a ritual performed by the Minoans as an act of worship.
Knossos is the most important specimen of the Minoan Civilization. I was extremely delighted and honoured to have visited the archaelogical site. Our tour continued with a short visit at the centre of Heraklion - short, since time was of the essence and I've been to Iraklio many times before. Ultimately, we returned to the ship for departure.
Wandering around Oia and Fira, in Santorini
I may have mentioned it before, but let's say it one more time; Santorini was the best way to end this cruise - they definitely keep the best for last! And it wasn't just the sight of the island that made it special. We were given the chance to enjoy our arrival from the bridge of the ship along with the Captain. I watched everything from up there, admired the mesmerizing view and thought to myself that you can't find elsewhere that much beauty, like in this country, like in Greece (I'm sorry World!).
No, that's not an overstatement; just check out all the photos below and you'll know what I mean. Of course, I have to thank the captain, mr. Romaios for the opportunity he gave us and his warm welcome and hospitality during our stay on board, together with the rest of the Crew of course.
I've been to Santorini before, I've walked in Oia and Fira many times before.
And I may have watched the sunset in Santorini a few times before but each of them was like the first. Except from all the traffic jam in Oia during sunset, it was an amazing stroll. We left Oia for Fira a little while later and returned to the ship, to watch the sunset from the ship's deck.
Early next morning we arrived at Piraeus. All this was kinda like a dream.

And a last -but amazing- photo together with my beloved Celestyal Olympia in Santorini!
I look forward to returning Aboard!
