Being a girlboss means I am always looking for ways to boost my productivity - whether I am working in my office or at home. My personal office space, helps me better focus and achieve more, since I instantly switch to "business mode".
For me, a super-productive day begins with phone calls, on to computer-related tasks while working on various projects on my laptop. I find it hard to focus on either of these tasks, let alone be productive and efficient while working at home - there are just too many distractions to avoid.
So, here I am sharing my top 3 tips for working more efficiently at home!
#1. TRY WORKING AT AN OFFICE DESK
I know it's not always easy to have a separate room build as a home office featuring a desk with your desktop computer. I recently decided that I would take this step though, so that I could focus on doing more work and avoid using my laptop on the couch and getting distracted. I used to do that a lot over the past years but having so many daily tasks online, it was time for me to upgrade to a desktop computer at home.
It's important to design your home office according to your needs - not only you will feel better but you'll feel inspired and encouraged to work more! Add colours you love, keep your desk clean and neat with a few essentials and never forget to add flowers! A fresh bouquet was on my desk BEFORE even adding my chair or computer!
#2. CONNECTION IS EVERYTHING
Having the latest and most efficient devices isn't the only thing that guarantees success when working from home. What matters most when working from electronic devices whether that is your desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet, is working quickly and efficiently. The perfect combination between network and internet connection is essential to achieve that.
If you need efficiency and great results, you will need a super fast and reliable connection - one that will transfer information and emotions as fast as they're created! Vodafone Home double play Fiber 100Mbps is what I choose - loved and approved by a digital girl!
#3. CREATE CHECK-LISTS
When working from home, most of the time it's difficult to focus on a task for an extended amount of time. What I've found best for me, is setting a timer every 90 minutes. I focus on a task that needs to be done for 90 minutes and then take a break (mostly to do chores).
Don't get distracted and interrupt every now and then to cook or do laundry. That's one of the biggest traps when working at homeι. Make check-lists for your online tasks and try following them! Use your breaks to do chores and relax afterwards.
