The private unveiling of the new Airbus A350-900 was held at the airport of Munich on February 2 and I was lucky enought to attend the celebration, invited by Lufthansa and Airbus.
I attended the ceremony together with a large crowd of journalists and Media people from all around the world and these are my impressions of the amazing time I had at Lufthansa's Tecknik Hangar – a place that felt a lot like home to me!
The unveiling ceremony was a spectacular 10-minute show shared with more than 2,000 employees and guests; Dr. Ulrich Maly, the Senior Mayor of Nuremberg, Carsten Spohr, CEO of the Lufthansa Group, Dr. Markus Söder, the Bavarian Finance Minister, Dr. Michael Kerkloh, CEO of Munich Airport and Thomas Enders, Ceo of Airbus were there to attend the show.
Before offering an in-depth presentation of the new Airbus with some details showing its unique character and excellence, I should mention that the aircraft is the most environmentally friendly and technologically advanced long-haul aircraft of its generation – a true marvel of the skies!
The new Airbus A350-900 is the first of ten new Lufthansa aircrafts which will be based at Munich Airport, serving Delhi and Boston (another good reason to visit the stunning city of Boston soon!) as their first destinations. Another fifteen new generation aircrafts are to follow in order to gradually replace the old A340s.
And behold its name: Nuremberg

THE MOST ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY AIRCRAFT IN THE WORLD
The new A350 features an innovative eco-friendly technology, being the most efficient long haul aircraft, as it uses 25% less fuel that any other aircraft of its type. The new Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines and the innovative aerodynamic design sets a new standard in efficiency with a decreased noise footprint – meaning that your trip will be so smooth that you will be looking forward to the next one!
Add to that the 25 per cent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions and you will be surprised by its efficiency. To fully understand its greatness, check out the new, immense Rolls Royce engines and judge by their size; you will see why they are being compared to a Concorde cabin!

A STUNNING CABIN
Nothing compares to the feeling you get from a brand new aircraft cabin - a cabin ready to host millions of visitors and travel them to every corner of the world. The A350 features 293 cabin seats - with 48 in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy and 224 in Economy Class.
Just a look at the new cabin will convince you of its attention to detail, as it is fully dedicated to both excellent customer service and passenger's comfort. Every corner of the A350 from Business to Economy was designed efficiently from the galleys to the in-flight entertainment system and the lighting technology.
Lufthansa's A350 is the first aircraft to feature an innovative lighting technology with 24 different lighting settings so that the light could sync with the passengers 'body clocks - a vital part of a long-haul flight asit would ease jetlag and help the passengers better adjust to the time zone while on board.
I would like to thank Lufthansa and Airbus for inviting me to meet and greet with the new Airbus A350. I am looking forward to travelling on this plane soon and sharing this amazing experience with you!
